Community Awareness – Alcohol Safety

Dear Resident,

We are sharing the attached information to help keep our communities safe and raise awareness of the risks associated with excessive alcohol consumption.

Please remember:

It is against the law to buy alcohol for someone who is already drunk.

Looking after friends and family when drinking can help prevent harm and reduce alcohol-related incidents.

Drinking large amounts of alcohol in a short period can lead to alcohol poisoning, which is a serious and potentially life-threatening condition.

Signs of alcohol poisoning include:

Confusion

Severely slurred speech

Loss of coordination

Vomiting

Slow or irregular breathing

Pale or blue-tinged skin

Being conscious but unresponsive

Passing out or unconsciousness

What to do

If you suspect someone is suffering from alcohol poisoning, call 999 immediately and request an ambulance.

Do not assume the person will "sleep it off" – alcohol poisoning can be fatal.

Please take a few moments to read the attached posters and consider sharing them with family members, friends, and young people who may benefit from this information.
